After an early breakfast, depart Moshi for Machame Gate, the starting point of your Kilimanjaro adventure.

Following registration with the national park authorities, your climb begins through dense tropical rainforest alive with birdsong, towering ancient trees, monkeys, giant ferns, and colorful flora.

The trail gradually ascends through lush vegetation before emerging at Machame Camp, nestled just above the forest line.

Take time to relax, enjoy your first mountain sunset, and savor a freshly prepared dinner.

Day 3: Machame Camp – Shira Camp

Elevation: 3,000m – 3,840m

Wake to crisp mountain air before continuing your ascent through the beautiful heath and moorland zone.

Today’s trail rewards you with magnificent panoramic views as you traverse volcanic ridges and expansive landscapes toward the famous Shira Plateau, one of Kilimanjaro’s oldest volcanic formations.

Along the way you’ll enjoy spectacular viewpoints ideal for photography before arriving at Shira Camp.

As the sun sets behind Mount Meru, relax with a warm meal while your body continues acclimatizing.

Day 4: Shira Camp – Lava Tower – Barranco Camp

Elevation: 3,840m – 4,630m – 3,950m

Today’s trek follows the important principle of “climb high, sleep low,” greatly improving acclimatization.

Hike through dramatic alpine desert landscapes toward the impressive Lava Tower, a volcanic rock formation standing over 4,600 metres above sea level.

After lunch near Lava Tower, descend into the spectacular Barranco Valley, famous for its giant Senecio plants and breathtaking cliffs.

The descent helps your body adapt to the altitude while rewarding you with some of Kilimanjaro’s most iconic scenery.

Walking Time: 6–8 Hours

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Overnight: Barranco Camp

Day 5: Barranco Camp – Barranco Wall – Karanga Valley – Barafu Camp

Elevation: 3,950m – 4,673m

After breakfast, tackle the famous Barranco Wall, one of the most exciting sections of the Machame Route.

Although steep in places, the climb is non-technical and offers incredible panoramic views over glaciers, valleys, and distant peaks.

Descend into Karanga Valley, where you will enjoy lunch and replenish your water before continuing across alpine terrain to Barafu Camp, your final base before the summit attempt.

Arrive in the afternoon to rest, organize your summit gear, enjoy an early dinner, and sleep for a few hours before the midnight ascent.

Walking Time: 7–8 Hours

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Overnight: Barafu Camp

Day 6: Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Gate – Return to Moshi

Shortly after midnight, begin the most challenging and rewarding stage of your adventure.

Using headlamps under a blanket of stars, slowly ascend toward Stella Point, where the first rays of sunrise illuminate the glaciers of Kilimanjaro.

Continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) — the highest point in Africa.

Celebrate your incredible achievement with photographs from the famous summit sign before beginning the descent.

Return to Barafu Camp for a short rest and refreshments before continuing down through alpine landscapes and rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your well-earned summit certificate.

After completing park formalities, transfer back to Moshi, where your unforgettable Kilimanjaro adventure concludes.
