Gateway to Kenya’s Northern Frontier
Your adventure begins early in Nairobi as you head north along the scenic A2 Highway. Stop at the famous Equator crossing in Nanyuki for memorable photographs with magnificent Mount Kenya providing a spectacular backdrop.
Continue through Timau, where endless canola and wheat fields paint the landscape in vibrant colours, before arriving in Isiolo for lunch. Journey through Samburu County, stopping at the mighty Ewaso Nyiro River and the dramatic Mount Ololokwe, one of Kenya’s most photographed sacred mountains.
As the scenery transforms into rugged volcanic terrain, arrive in Marsabit in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Across Kenya’s Only True Desert
After breakfast, board a specially prepared 4×4 Land Cruiser and venture into one of Africa’s most extraordinary landscapes.
Drive across the legendary Chalbi Desert, an ancient lakebed that dried thousands of years ago, leaving behind endless salt flats and rolling sand dunes stretching to the horizon.
Encounter colourful camel caravans, visit remote villages, and experience the unique lifestyles of the Rendille and Gabra communities before arriving at the lush Kalacha Oasis, a remarkable green haven surrounded by the desert.
Later, continue to North Horr before returning to Kalacha for an unforgettable cultural evening featuring traditional dances, music and storytelling.
As darkness falls, experience one of the world’s finest stargazing locations, where millions of stars illuminate the crystal-clear desert sky free from light pollution.

After breakfast, return to Marsabit and enjoy lunch before heading into the spectacular Marsabit National Park.
Explore ancient indigenous forests that rise unexpectedly from the surrounding desert and visit the beautiful Gof Sokorte Crater Lake, where elephants, buffaloes and numerous wildlife species gather to drink.
Continue to the famous Lake Paradise, one of Kenya’s most scenic crater lakes, offering breathtaking panoramic views and peaceful surroundings that perfectly contrast the vast desert explored the previous day.
Return to your hotel in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Journey Back Through Kenya’s Spectacular North
After breakfast, check out and begin your return journey to Nairobi.
Before leaving Marsabit, enjoy a scenic detour to Balessa Crater, where dramatic escarpments and sweeping landscapes provide one final unforgettable photo opportunity.
Continue south through Samburu and Isiolo, stopping for lunch en route before travelling through Nanyuki and arriving back in Nairobi in the evening with incredible memories of Kenya’s untouched northern wilderness.
