DAY 1 – NAIROBI → MOMBASA SGR → WATAMU

Morning – SGR Journey

Meet at the designated SGR departure point in Nairobi and board the Madaraka Express for your journey to Mombasa.

Enjoy the scenic journey through Kenya’s countryside before arriving at Mombasa Terminus.

Transfer to Watamu

Upon arrival, meet the Africa Safaris Adventure representative/driver and transfer by road towards Watamu.

The drive gives you an opportunity to experience the changing scenery from Mombasa towards the quieter North Coast.

Afternoon – Resort Check-in

Arrive at your selected Watamu resort and check in.

Depending on your arrival time:

DAY 2 – WATAMU MARINE EXPERIENCE

Watamu Marine National Park Excursion

After breakfast, head out for one of Watamu’s signature experiences: an excursion into the Watamu Marine National Park & Reserve.

The protected marine area is renowned for its coral gardens, clear waters and diverse marine life. It is also associated with Kenya’s famous marine “Big Five”: sea turtles, whale sharks, dolphins, whales and billfish.

Activities can include:

Glass-Bottom Boat Ride

Cruise over the reef while observing the underwater world through the glass panels of the boat.

Ideal for families and travellers who want to see marine life without necessarily entering the water.

Snorkelling

For those who wish to get closer to the reef, snorkelling provides an opportunity to observe colourful tropical fish and coral formations.

Watamu’s reefs include shallow areas suitable for beginners as well as more advanced marine environments.
