DAY 2 – WATAMU MARINE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, embark on your marine excursion.

Main Experience:

Boat Safari + Snorkelling + Sandbank

Explore the coral gardens and marine environment of Watamu Marine National Park.

Mida Creek is a large mangrove-fringed tidal ecosystem with winding waterways, birdlife and marine habitats. The area is particularly important for migratory birds.

Walk through the mangrove ecosystem and learn about:

Bird Watching

A boat trip through the mangrove channels offers a different perspective of Watamu’s coastal ecosystem.

Afternoon – Arabuko Sokoke Forest

Continue to Arabuko Sokoke Forest, one of Kenya’s most important coastal forest ecosystems.

The forest offers nature trails, birdwatching and opportunities to encounter some of the area’s distinctive wildlife. The ecosystem is particularly valuable for bird and biodiversity enthusiasts.

After breakfast, visit the historic Gede Ruins.

Gede is an atmospheric archaeological site representing an ancient Swahili settlement dating back centuries. The ruins lie within a forested environment and offer an opportunity to learn about the history, architecture and culture of the Swahili Coast.
