Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve | Into Kenya’s Wild Northern Frontier

Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi as you journey north through Kenya’s scenic central highlands. Drive past lush coffee plantations, pineapple farms, and fertile farmlands before the landscape gradually transforms into the rugged semi-arid beauty of northern Kenya.

Arrive at Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch at your lodge before enjoying some relaxation.

Later in the afternoon, embark on your first thrilling game drive through this unique wilderness. Samburu is famous for its incredible wildlife, including the rare Grevy’s Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk, and Somali Ostrich, collectively known as the Samburu Special Five. The reserve is also home to elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and countless bird species.

Day 2: Full Day Exploring Samburu National Reserve

Wake up early for a sunrise game drive when predators are still active and wildlife is at its most spectacular.

Return to the lodge for breakfast before enjoying a relaxed morning by the swimming pool or simply soaking in the peaceful wilderness surroundings.

In the afternoon, venture back into the reserve for another exciting game drive along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, where elephants, crocodiles, hippos, and numerous wildlife species gather to drink.

Day 3: Samburu – Thompson Falls – Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, depart Samburu and travel south through the scenic Great Rift Valley with a refreshing stop at the magnificent Thompson Falls, one of Kenya’s most beautiful waterfalls.

Continue to Lake Nakuru National Park, internationally renowned for its thriving populations of endangered Black and White Rhinos, Rothschild’s Giraffes, flamingos, and over 450 bird species.

Following lunch and a short rest, head out for an afternoon game drive in search of rhinos, lions, buffaloes, leopards, zebras, and countless birdlife that make this park one of Kenya’s finest wildlife sanctuaries.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Maasai Mara National Reserve

Enjoy breakfast before travelling through the breathtaking Great Rift Valley towards Kenya’s most celebrated wildlife destination—the Maasai Mara National Reserve.

Arrive in time for lunch before settling into your safari camp.

Later, head out for your first game drive across the endless rolling plains of the Maasai Mara. Keep your camera ready for unforgettable encounters with lions, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, buffaloes, leopards, and, depending on the season, the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration.

Dinner and overnight at Enkorok Camp.

Day 5: Full Day in the Legendary Maasai Mara

Experience another magical sunrise with an early morning game drive, one of the best times to witness predators returning from the hunt while the savannah awakens with wildlife activity.

Return to camp for breakfast before relaxing or enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the African wilderness.

In the afternoon, set off once more in search of the legendary Big Five and countless other wildlife species that roam the vast Mara ecosystem.

Optional activities include a visit to a traditional Maasai Village or an unforgettable hot air balloon safari (available at an additional cost).

Dinner and overnight at Enkorok Camp.

Day 6: Maasai Mara – Great Rift Valley – Nairobi

Enjoy one final early morning game drive, offering your last opportunity to capture memorable wildlife moments before returning to camp for breakfast.

After check-out, begin your scenic journey back to Nairobi, stopping at the spectacular Great Rift Valley Viewpoint to admire one of Africa’s most remarkable geological wonders and capture panoramic photographs.

Arrive in Nairobi in the early afternoon, where your unforgettable safari adventure comes to an end.
