Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Welcome to Uganda

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your Africa Safaris Adventure safari representative.

After a short briefing, begin your transfer to Kampala where you can relax after your journey while enjoying views of Uganda’s vibrant capital city.

Spend the evening at leisure before enjoying dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Kampala – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, depart for the world-famous Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to over half of the world’s remaining Mountain Gorillas.

The scenic journey takes you through the rolling grasslands of Ankole, famous for its magnificent long-horned cattle, before climbing into the spectacular Kigezi Highlands, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa” because of its breathtaking terraced hills.

Enjoy lunch en route before continuing through beautiful rainforest scenery to Bwindi.

Upon arrival, check into your lodge and relax while preparing for tomorrow’s extraordinary gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi

Today is the highlight of your Ugandan safari.

Following an early breakfast, report to the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters for a briefing by experienced park rangers before venturing into the ancient rainforest in search of one of the world’s most endangered primates.

The trek can last anywhere between 30 minutes and several hours depending on the movement of the gorilla family.

Once located, you’ll spend a magical one hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, groom, communicate and interact in their natural habitat.

This extraordinary wildlife encounter is often described as one of Africa’s greatest safari experiences.

Return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Bwindi – Ishasha – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, depart Bwindi and journey north towards the spectacular Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Travel through the scenic Albertine Rift Valley before entering the famous Ishasha Sector, renowned for its rare population of tree-climbing lions.

Enjoy a game drive in search of these unique predators alongside elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, topis and numerous bird species.

Continue to the Mweya Peninsula where you’ll check into your safari lodge overlooking the beautiful Kazinga Channel.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking & Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

Rise early for an exciting chimpanzee tracking adventure in Kyambura Gorge, a spectacular underground rainforest often referred to as the “Valley of Apes.”

Accompanied by experienced guides, search for habituated chimpanzees while also spotting black-and-white colobus monkeys, baboons, red-tailed monkeys and numerous bird species.

Following lunch, enjoy one of Africa’s finest wildlife boat cruises along the Kazinga Channel.

This unforgettable cruise offers exceptional opportunities to photograph enormous pods of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes and countless bird species gathered along the shoreline.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Morning Game Drive – Equator Experience – Kampala – Entebbe Departure

Begin the day with an early morning game drive, the perfect time to spot predators before they retreat from the night’s hunt.

Keep an eye out for lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, bushbucks, warthogs and many other fascinating wildlife species.

Later, visit the fascinating Katwe Salt Lake to learn about traditional salt mining methods and the important relationship between the local communities and the national park.

Afterwards, begin your journey back to Kampala with lunch served en route.

Stop at the Uganda Equator for memorable photographs, a geographical demonstration, local crafts and souvenir shopping before continuing to Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight.

Important Gorilla Trekking Guidelines

• Follow your ranger’s instructions at all times.
• Maintain a minimum distance of 7 metres from the gorillas whenever possible.
• Flash photography is strictly prohibited.
• Avoid sudden movements or loud noises.
• Do not trek if you are feeling unwell, as gorillas are highly susceptible to human illnesses.
• Carry waterproof clothing, as weather conditions can change quickly in the rainforest. These guidelines are consistent with the source itinerary and advisory information.
